How do I Prepare Data Files for Upload?
Overview:
Each monitor manufacturer has a proprietary method of storing files in a folder structure that is unique to monitor models and versions. Each of the upload tools has a slight difference in process of preparing those files for upload. This article will cover the process required for web upload of machine data.
Requirements:
- File Compression Utility (7-Zip, WinRar, Winzip, etc.).
- Machine Data from a Supported Monitor.
Process:
Below you can find the process in 3 parts: Copying Data to a Computer and Compressing the Data with 7-Zip or Compressing the Data with Windows Utility.
Copy Data to a Computer:
- Select the folder on the data card.
- Right Click on the folder that contains the data.
- Select Copy from the menu.
- Navigate to the destination folder.
- Right Click, Select Paste.

Open folder containing the data.
Compress the Data with 7-Zip:
- Select the folder containing the 'Point to' location of the data.
- Right Click on the folder.
- Select 7-Zip and Select Add to "FolderName.7z".
- A new file with a .7Z will be produced. This will be the file selected when using File Upload.
Compress the Data with Windows Utility:
- Select the folder containing the 'Point to' location of the data.
- Right Click on the folder.
- Select Send to and Select Compressed (zipped) folder.
- A new file with a .zip extension will be produced. This will be the file selected when using File Upload
NOTE: Compressed file size should not exceed 2GB.
