How can I Reduce Rx Varieties for Case shapefiles?
Overview:
Case IH monitors with shapefile compatibility (firmware version 30.6.0.0 or newer) can read at most 10 varieties in a shapefile prescription file. If a field has 11 or more varieties placed, the file will not load in the monitor. Stand generates prescriptions for all additional products on every field. If it is not reasonable or desirable to remove some varieties in Seed Placement, the best way to work-around this limitation is to use the Layer Editor tool in Pioneer® Field360™ Studio to remove excess varieties from the Stand 2.0 VRS Recommendation layer.
NOTE: The variety limitation is specific to exports in the CNH Shapefile format. Exports in CNH Voyager 2 or Case Pro 700 (ISO) format do not have this restriction.
Requirements:
- Farms and field boundaries created.
- Crop Zones assigned.
- Products Placed or As-Planted data uploaded.
- VRS Rx created in and exported from Corteva VRS.
- Requires firmware version 30.6.0.0 or newer.
NOTE: Pioneer® Field360™ Studio is an internal program available to Pioneer employees.
Process:
- In Pioneer® Field360™ Studio, in the Grower window, select the Operation and Crop Year.
- In the Resources window, Expand the Farm, the Field, and the Crop Zone from the domain tree.
- Select the Stand 2.0 VRS Recommendation layer from the domain tree. This layer was created when the VRS Rx was exported from Stand.
- Select the Layers drop-down menu.
- Select the Layer Editor.
- Select the Attributes tab.
- Select an attribute - a row that contains a variety name - to be deleted.
- Select the Delete Attribute button.
- Repeat as needed until there are 10 or fewer attributes in the layer.
- Save changes.
- Right-click the Stand 2.0 VRS Recommendation layer from the domain tree.
- Select Export.
- Select Export Layers.
- In the Export window, select the output format 'Shapefile.'
- Select a filename template '%FieldName% - %LayerName.'
- Select the elipses [...] icon next to output folder to chose the location on the computer the files will save to.
- Select Export.
- According to the Iowa State Monitor guide, the files need to be saved in a folder called 'Shapefile' and placed on the same USB as the CN1 folder.
- "The Pro 700 only accepts a USB thumb drive. It is recommended to use CNH's compatible USB drive this can be purchased from a local CNH dealer.
Shapefiles must be placed in a Shapefile folder on the root drive of the USB stick. This can be placed on the same USB with the .CN1 folder, to insure grower, farm, field, boundaries and guidance lines stay on the monitor."
