How do I Generate, Export, and Download a VRS Prescription?
Overview:
The Corteva VRS Service calculates a variable rate seeding prescription (VRS Rx) for products placed across each crop zone in the entire operation that has a product placed and a designated yield target.

Below you can find the process in 3 parts: Generating a Prescription, Exporting a Prescription, and Downloading a Prescription.
Generating a Prescription:
- From the Navigate to an Operation box, search for an operation and select it or select one of your three most recently visited operations.
- Verify the correct year is displayed under the Crop Year drop-down menu.
- Select the Apps Launcher

- Select VRS.
- On the Stand Operation page, view a list of corn and soybean crop zones in the selected operation.
- If the field does not already contain a Yield Goal, select Set Yield Goal. If a yield goal is in place, skip to step 8.
- Enter a yield target for the field. If the field contains an Irrigation Zones layer, enter both irrigated and non-irrigated yield targets.
- Select Preview to apply the yield goal.
- Select Save.
- Select one or more rows with field names.
- The Select All check box at the top of the field list selects all crop zones that contain a product and yield goal.
- The check box located in the left of the field-name row selects only that field.
- Select GET RX at the top of the field list to generate a prescription.
- The Planting Rate Inputs dialog box allows the user to adjust settings that impact the prescription:
- For Corn Crop Zones, the inputs window allows modification of Stand loss, Grain Price, Seed Cost, Min. Yield, Max. Yield, Minimum seeding rate, and Max seeding rate.
- For Soybean Crop Zones, the inputs window allows modification of the Local Standard Seeding Rate (the rate the user would normally flat-rate on the field) as well as minimum and maximum seed rates.
Note: The program allows but does not recommend values under 125,000 or over 220,000 seeds/acre for soybeans. The program does not allow seeding rates above 300,000 or below 50,000.
- Select Continue to generate the VRS Rx.
- The VRS Rx can be previewed and edited by selecting the field-name row.
Exporting a Prescription:
- After the prescription is generated, select one or more rows with field names.
- The Select All check box at the top of the field list selects all crop zones that contain a product and yield goal.
- The check box located in the left of the field-name row selects only that field.
- Select Export.
- From the Export Recommendations window:
- Select a Device Compatibility to match the correct monitor.
- Fill out an email for Email Delivery.
- Optional: Check Additional Delivery Options to send the VRS Rx to My John Deere.
- Verify that the correct crop zones are included in the table at the bottom of the window.
- Optional: include a map and summary PDF with the export.
- Optional: include only the product placed on the field. Un-selecting this box exports a separate prescription for every product placed on the operation for every field.
- Select Export at the lower-right corner of the Export Recommendations window to send the prescription to the designated email.
- Select the Export Status button at the top-right corner to monitor the progress of the export.
Downloading a Prescription:
- Download via email:
The designated email account will receive a message from Corteva.- Open the email from Corteva.
- Select the hyperlink to download the zipped file, proceed to step 4 in the next section.
- Export Status queue:
Receive the download from the queue.
- Select the Export Status button found at the upper-right corner of Stand.
- Select the zip icon to download prescription files directly.
- The downloaded file appears different depending on the computer's default browser:
- Internet Explorer downloads appear in a View Downloads window.
- Chrome downloads appear at the bottom of the internet browser.
NOTE: If the VRS Rx is downloaded and the the internet browser is closed, the file can be found in the Downloads Folder on the PC: C:\Users\<username>\Downloads
- Locate the downloaded and compressed VRS RX. Verify that it is in the location you want on the computer before proceeding to the next step.
- To extract the zipped download, right-click it and select 7-zip (Pioneer computers) or Winzip (most standard Microsoft Computers) and select Extract Here.
- The extracted file is ready to be transferred to a USB to be uploaded to the monitor.
